HABE Awarded Silver AI Quality Mark
We are delighted to announce that Harris Academy Beckenham has been awarded the Silver AI Quality Mark by the Good Future Foundation, celebrating our commitment to the responsible, ethical and effective use of artificial intelligence across the academy.
The nationally renowned accreditation celebrates schools that demonstrate excellence in integrating AI to enhance teaching, learning and operational effectiveness while maintaining the highest standards of safeguarding, ethics and educational quality.
Assessors praised the academy's decisive progress in adapting to AI in education, highlighting our curriculum-wide approach to AI, strong leadership and commitment to high-quality pedagogy. The report recognised our robust AI policy, comprehensive digital literacy strategy and the work undertaken to ensure both staff and students are equipped to use AI responsibly and effectively.
The assessment also commended our extensive work to embed AI literacy across the curriculum. Students are encouraged to explore emerging technologies critically and thoughtfully, developing their understanding of generative AI, algorithms, bias, digital citizenship, media literacy and the wider impact of AI on society.
Recognition for Innovation and Leadership
The award reflects the dedication of staff across the academy and the leadership of Carmen Tenorio-Nunez, whose work has been instrumental in developing and embedding the academy's AI strategy.
The assessor concluded that Harris Academy Beckenham has established "a sound and effective curriculum-wide approach to AI" and demonstrated a "strong stance which carefully yet assertively embeds AI within teaching and learning."
